OMK PROKECT FOR END-TO-END PLANNING AND SCHEDULING OF METALLURGICAL AND PIPING PRODUCTION IMPLEMENTED

Enterchain and international company OM Partners have completed a project on end-to-end planning and scheduling of metallurgical and piping production for the United Metallurgical Company (OMK) that is implemented based on OMP Plus special planning system. Comprehensive implementation of the solution started in January 2019

A unique process of job order planning and scheduling was launched in one of OMK industrial divisions. It is integrated into the complete supply chain management cycle: from managing client call-offs and orders to issuing job orders and receiving feedback upon execution  

The implementation of new processes and a leading OMP Plus digital solution for integrated planning will deliver significant business value. Its scale will manifest itself in full over time, when new processes and tools demonstrate high usage, but even now we can highlight the achievement of significant results: 

  • Consolidation of balanced schedules that are end-to-end in terms of processes and supply chain as well as a balanced campaign plan within a single OMP Plus information system. 
  • Reduction of the surplus products release rate due to the transparency of plans for the level of scheduling and the capability to effectively form metallurgical production series. 
  • Improvement of the accuracy of estimating the order timing and the reliability of their observance by maintaining the relevance of plans: changes in schedules are immediately visible and affect the plan. 
  • Equipment downtime reduction through avoiding conflict situations when sequencing along the entire chain. 
  • Reduction of the change management period: changes introduced to the plan are immediately available in the scheduling and vice versa, thus a close connection between by-order and operational planning is actualized. 

"Enterchain has fulfilled their obligations in time and with the required quality. In December 2020, the planning and scheduling system was put into commercial operation," says Oleg Osminkin, Head of Methodology Department of the OMK Supply Chain Planning Directorate. "Today we are cooperating with Enterchain on the next project for implementation of a planning and scheduling system for other production facilities of our company."
